Just a quick post about some school stuff. The kids stay busy with plenty of school stuff, especially these two. Millie has absolutely loved being on Student Council as 7th grade Representative. She has been involved in planning the activities, dances, fund raisers, and other various events. She has also loved having one of her class periods being student council because she gets quite a bit of her homework done in that time. She has made new friends at the Junior High and has become quite the socialite! She is now thinking about running for 8th grade president. We'll see.
I am proud of her example and the kind of person she is inside and out.
Here is a picture that is on the wall at the school:
Here is Steve Jobs at the Wax Museum at school. Notice the mean face. He read in the biography that Steve Jobs was not so nice. Too bad you can't see his facial scruff in this picture:
And here is Sambo at the Science Fair. He science project was to see which brand of popcorn popped the most kernels. BTW, Orville Redenbaucer does.
This kid is not as enthusiastic about school. Not so much. At least the learning part of school. On day one of first grade, he said his favorite part about school was recess, PE, and lunch. Still stands true to this day. It's like pulling teeth to get him to read and find joy in solving a math problem. And don't even get me started about his handwriting. It's like he is trying to write like his Dad. Yikes.
But it's okay, because he has a big heart and he is cute and kind and...he is a boy. I'm finding that most boys are different than girls when it comes to school work and projects and handwriting and remembering when assignments are due. BS keeps reassuring me that this is normal. Whenever I get concerned or gripe he says, "Holly, he's a boy."
Here he is with his teacher Mrs. Park. She loves Sambo. How could she not? He's adorable!
