Suncrest

Suncrest we love you.  We have called you home for 7 years.  You have been the perfect place for our family.  We have enjoyed and will miss the beauty, the people, the community, the trails, the outdoor movies and neighborhood activities, the snow, the "Murderer's Hill" sledding hill, and biking up and down your mountain.  We will miss having the option of going down the North side into Salt Lake County or the South side into Utah County.
We could go on with so many things that we love about you.

Before moving from Suncrest, we were able to spend some nice sunny days swimming at the Community pool.  I regret not spending more time here - it has a slide, lazy river, hot tubs, zero entry with a water feature, and a snack bar.  The best thing was you always saw familiar faces and fun people to hang out and swim with.

Quincy went down the slide for her first time this summer.  At first she slid down with the older kids, but soon she was doing it all on her own and even swimming to the steps.  She is an awesome little swimmer!

Here she is the very first time - her face is all nervous:

The second time - much more relaxed

The 3rd time - loving it!

One evening when I was driving up the hill {for the 8th time that day} to pack more boxes, I had to pull over and take a picture of this beautiful rainbow.  Over the years there have been lots of rainbows that seem to end in or near Suncrest.  I don't believe it's coincidence - for us, Suncrest is a pot of gold.

July 4th

The 4th was fantastic as usual.  The only downer was that there was a fire in Alpine on the mountain that forced evacuations of many including our friends, and could have been a threat to Suncrest if the winds quickly changed directions.  The news was reporting that we were "on Alert" which prompted many phone calls from concerned friends and family to check on us -- but really it wasn't as close as the news made it sound.  We appreciate everybody thinking of us.
Taken from kid's school, I wish I would have taken a pic from our deck
Here we are at the annual parade. The kids love throwing poppers and waiting for the super loud cannons!

This and That

Some random pics from the month of May:
Huge Hail Stone {sitting on a bottle cap}
Millie took this picture from our deck of a beautiful rainbow after one of the many, many rainstorms

And here's the other half.  Of course, Will was set on going to the end for his Pot O' Gold

Look who Sambo spotted at Texas Roadhouse...Jackson Emery!  He's a big fan of the Cougars.
Will took this picture of his fresh baked cinnamon rolls...he has been requesting them for months so he was so happy when I finally made them :)

Pretty, Cute Stuff

Some pretty and cute stuff from this past weekend:

{Pretty}:

These 3 pics were taken within minutes of each other from our deck. Yesterday we were eating Sunday dinner and the kids noticed how neat the view was outside. It was dark and cloudy in most places except for a ray of sunshine that was peeking through the clouds right onto the Timpanogos Temple and up to a section of mountains. We thought the 3rd picture looked like a storybook Christmas village like Who-ville or something. We Love Suncrest!

{Cute}:

Saturday, Quincy was carrying her fuzzy pink backpack all over the house. She does this all of the time. She loads it with random toys, books, etc. and pretends like she's going somewhere really important. On Saturday, she had been doing this for at least an hour when I noticed a quiet sound coming from her backpack. I unzipped it, and this is what peeked out!
If we had to have a kitty, this one is the one to have. It puts up with Quincy's nonsense and handling of all kind :)

{Pretty & Cute}:

We went to Millie's Ballet Showcase Saturday night. It was a pleasure to watch her doing what she loves most. This was her first recital since starting at her new dance studio called "The Pointe." We were way impressed. This night was focused on ballet, and only lasted 1 hour! Millie is not a big fan of ballet, but you would never know it watching her big smile and grace. Her group put on an awesome performance, dancing an exerpt from Sleeping Beauty. Great job!
Thanks to our families for coming to support her (and Tepanyaki wasn't bad either)!
