DONUT you want to be my Valentine?

Enjoying a Dizzie Izzie at Dear Lizzie

I'm pretty sure I dig Valentine's Day more than most.  Every year I find myself getting excited to find ideas and make cute valentines with & for the kids.  This year did not disappoint and we had a fabulous heart day!  Millie didn't have a "special" Valentine at the moment, but both of boys did! Sambo even gave a stuffed animal, a flower, and some chocolate to his.  Her name rhymes with Madison :)
Will had his eye on somebody and was planning to ask her to be his Valentine, but a different girl beat him and asked him to be her Valentine first.  Of course he couldn't say no!  As a 4th grader he wasn't quite ready to give her a gift but he did give her an extra donut.
This was the first year that Millie didn't put together and hand out Valentines, so we only had 3 kid's classes. They unanimously voted on donuts.  Lucky for me Krispy Kreme makes really cute and scrumptious donuts for Valentines day. And lucky for the kids, assembling the valentines only required folding boxes, throwing in a donut, and slapping on a sticker!

The boys have sleepy eyes because they are putting theirs together at 6:30 a.m. They procrastinated.

But there was still enough time for pink pancakes

And here they are looking adorable and ready for Cupid to strike:
I gave them these cute mugs filled with goodies along with their favorite hot cocoa:

And of course BS and I went out on a date. We love Tepanyaki and going to the movies. It was hot in more ways than one ;)  Yep, still madly in LOVE!

BS and I gave ourselves one of these packages that came straight from heaven - a mix of homemade chocolate dipped strawberries, oreos, cinnamon bears, pretzels, and marshmallows.  The Young Women in our ward {mosly us leaders} made these and sold them for a fund raiser. It was super successful and we will probably do this every year! So Good!

Dates with BS

Amidst the chaos of end of school stuff and summer beginning,
BS and I have managed to squeeze in a few dates.  We do try to keep our priorities straight :)
We love going to the movies and do that quite a bit, but mix it up every now and then.

At a Salt Lake Real game {with Russ and Holly Smith}.  Before the game our friends took us to eat at an Indian restaurant and I tried lamb for the first time in my life.

On a bike ride through Highland, American Fork, and Alpine.  We love to do this together.

I like to let him ride in front :)

Lagoon-A little slice of heaven

What do you do to celebrate? Well for the 6Clarks, we go to Lagoon. Especially if it's Frightmares! Since we always take the kids, Holly and I never get to go on rides together. So she sent out an email to a bunch of friends to see if there was any interest in a couples only date night at Lagoon. She got back a ton of responses saying "we would love to go" or we are "Totally in." As the day came closer, the emails started pouring in from these same people except they were like, "we couldn't find a sitter", or "my kid has a game," etc... Well by 5:30 Friday night Holly and I were all ready to go...but apparently we were the ONLY ones. We were stood-up by literally 20 people (but all were legit reasons). Even some friends from Ogden bailed, which is strange because everyone from Ogden loves Lagoon! So Holly and I had to make a decision, and we decided to go anyway. On the way to Lagoon we grabbed some pizza at a new place called Settebello. Soooo good! We arrived at Frightmares at 7:30 and we were so happy to flash our good ol' season passes. We didn't waste any time hitting every ride. Let me tell you, we were laughing our heads off. Not only because the rides were so fun, not because we rode Colossus 5 times in a row, not because we stayed upside-down the entire "Rock O Planes" ride, and not because we were just having so much fun together. It was because we met the coolest people there. Who needs to invite friends to Lagoon when you can just meet better ones there? This is our new friend Ron Grant in the picture with Sam, and the other picture is of his girlfriend's back tat. These are the kind of friends you get to hang with at Lagoon. Anyway, the night was awesome and I am so glad Holly and I still went. Here are some pics to show how much fun we were having. The only downer of the night was Holly realized after getting off of "Wicked" that her cell phone was no longer in her coat pocket. So 2 hours later we checked back to see if it was found or smashed underneath the roller coaster, and by some miracle Holly hawk-eyed it in the bushes under the ride! It was trashed but at least we recovered her SIM card.
