Lagoon

This is the first year in a long time that we haven't had season passes to Lagoon.  But it wasn't on purpose...only because we kept forgetting to buy them and waited too long.  It was July before we even had a chance to go to Lagoon so we decided not to get them.  We have still managed to go twice (thanks to Bounce back passes), but we really miss being able to go whenever we want for a few hours on the summer evenings.  We love Lagoon!

The first time we were lucky to go with cousins Kade, Lucy, Sadie, Norah, and Alex.  Aunt Casey was in town for the 4th of July.  Millie didn't get to go because she was in St. George for her Student council retreat.  The kids had a fantastic day and even though it was hot...we went on plenty of wet rides to cool us off!  But the best part of the day was when Quincy realized she was FINALLY tall enough to ride all of the big rides!  Yep, 46 inches exactly!

And she didn't waste time being too scared to ride them.  We went on many big rides together  like Spyder, Wild Mouse, the big swings, the White roller coaster, and sitting on the back row of the Tidal Wave.  So brave!  But she did want more time to think about riding Wicked and The Colossus and "ride it next time."  Which is what she did when she and the boys went back to Lagoon the next week, but this time with BS. She rode Wicked and Colossus, along with any and all rides she could!  She couldn't get enough of it!  BS took some really cute videos of her expressions during the rides.

It's always fun to be with cousins!  We had a great day and closed the place down!

For Will, Lagoon isn't complete without a game of Lucky Ducks.  This time he scored a fishy that he gave to Q
We look forward to going back in October for Frightmares!!!!

Tom boy and Memorial Day weekend

We spent Memorial day weekend at the cabin.  These days whenever we have a free day or two, it's a no brainer: we go to the cabin!

We did the usual, including lots of fishing, motorcycling, and 4-wheeling.
The boys brought their buddy Trevin along and he got completely hooked on fishing!

On Sunday we visited my Grandpa's and Grandma's graves.  And of course that involved trimming the grass around the headstones, leaving some flowers, and talking about our memories of them.  I really miss them and feel really lucky to have been close to them.  Especially my Grandma Violet.

And then it was back to the cabin.
We should have named Quincy after her Grandpa Tom.  As in Tom boy.
She is not into girly things, and the more rough and tough she can be...the better.
She loves going fishing and here she is hanging out with the boys while they gut the fish:

And here she is riding with the boys.  And believe me, she can keep up with them!

{I made the helmets come off for picture purposes}

And we just went to Lagoon, and while the other little girls were together on the kiddie rides...here is Quincy riding Wicked and The Colossus!  What a brave girl!

And here she is at her friend's birthday party.  They went to a salon to get their hair and nails done. While the other girls wanted curls and Princess hair-dos,
all Quincy wanted was her hair pulled back into 2 braids.

But look how cute she is!  And she even wore a fancy skirt for the occasion {because Mom insisted}.  And she does love having her nails painted :)
How I adore this little girl - the perfect mix of sugar and spice...and snails and puppy dog tails!

Fall Break

We were planning to go to St. George for Fall Break, which is what we frequently do, but the weather was bad news down South.  Very rainy and colder than it was supposed to be up here.  Also there were so many fun things going on locally so we decided to stick around and have a Staycation!

It went like this:
Wednesday: After school we went with our friends the Griffiths to see "Hotel Transylvania" and eat at Costa Vida.
Thursday: The boys got invited to go to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point with their friends Breckon and Bryton.  Here are some pics that their Mom took {thanks Instagram!}:

-While the boys played, the girls and I enjoyed a lunch date at Chik-Fil-A and then some shopping to get all of the stuff we needed for Halloween costumes and crafts.  I love having girl time with Millie and Quincy!

Thursday afternoon we picked up Will's friend Isaac and drove up to the Grandma and Grandpa's for some fun at the cabin!  BS had to stay back for work :(
We spent that night and most of the next day up there.  As always we had a blast playing outdoors and relaxing inside their cozy home.  Somehow it hadn't rained on us yet.

Friday night:  We went to Frightmares at Lagoon!  BS left work early and picked up some of Sam's friends and met us there!  By then it was raining but it didn't stop us, we threw on some garbage bags and stayed until it closed!  See the next post for pics.

Saturday:  BYU football game!  This game was "Black Out" day so everyone including the players wore black.  The uniforms looked great!

Somebody got sleepy and took a little nap in the bleachers.  She was pooped from our 3 day marathon!
But not for long...she feels so rejuvenated now!

Lagoon Part 2: Frightmares

One of our FAVORITE things to do in the Fall: Frightmares!
The kids were brave this year and went through 3 of the Haunted Houses!  Spooooky!
So much fun with lots of friends and cousins!

Over Fall break we went two nights in a row.  Friday night was rainy but not crowded at all so we stayed until close - just threw some garbage bags on the kids :)

The next Friday, Millie's friend Morann invited A TON of friends {girls and boys} to go to Frightmares.  They all rode together in this "Beat Bus" that her parents rented for the evening!  They had a total blast!  While the 7th graders played, Quincy and I had a date night at Lagoon.  I had her all to myself and loved every minute of it.  The boys were up in the mountains for the deer hunt.

Ready to go through the maze
