Spring Break Park 1: Stay-cation

Each year the kids get one week off from school for Spring break.  If you add the weekends before and after, that's 9 days!  We always look forward to this break and to getting out of town...anywhere warm!  We usually go to either St. George or Zion's National Park; last year we went to California.  This year we were planning on St. George but got invited to go to Moab with some friends.  We love Moab!  But we weren't going to be going down until Thursday evening, which meant the kids and I had 4 days here at home.
So I asked the kids what they wanted to do each day and we planned our stay-cation:
Monday- Swimming at the Lehi Legacy Center, great pool and waterslide!  Each kid took a friend and had a blast!  No pictures.
Tuesday- Thanksgiving Point - We met Grandpa Judy, Sarah, Ashlee, and their kiddos and had a great time at the farm.  Highlights were the peacocks spreading their feathers, the brand new baby colt, and the pony rides!  Will was embarrassed to ride the white pony with "that funny thing hanging down under there."  So funny! After the hayride we grabbed some lunch and ice cream at the deli.  Fun day!

Spencer, Q, Sadie, Kade

Wednesday- Picnic at the park.  It was nice to be outside and running around playing games!  Welcome Spring!   Now it's off to Moab...

Maui

We've been home only a few weeks and already I want to go back!  There were 12 of us Clarks on this trip - Jim & Judy, Brady & Sarah, Adam & Jess, Sean & Megan, Jordan & Jenny.  We had such a great time and it was heaven for BS and I to have some alone time.  We celebrated our 16th anniversary <3

Grandpa Tom and Grandma Cindy took care of the kids - it really helped me be able to relax knowing they were in good hands.  Knowing I didn't have to go anywhere or do anything was priceless although we didn't lay still for too long.  We did a good job at balancing just enough play with just enough lay.

Highlights: Scuba diving {it's been 10 years since our last dive}, snorkeling & swimming with big Sea Turtles, the beautiful Road to Hana, fresh fish tacos, laying by the pool & shaved ice with coconut ice cream, paddle boarding and surfing, Warren & Annabelle's show, shopping in Whaler's Village and Lahaina, sleeping in!

Thanks Jim and Jude for planning and putting together this vacation!  We love you!

Playing Catch Up

I am a month behind!  I recently ordered and received our first blog book from the first year (2008) of our family blog.  Our family LOVES it!  I gives me extra incentive to try to stay current on our blog.  I can see the value of documenting memories as they happen because you remember little details that otherwise would be forgotten.  Anyway, I am really going to try to get all caught up this Memorial weekend (when all the kids are asleep)!

There are some pictures that have been haunting me in iPhoto because I haven't posted them....only because at the time I hadn't got around to it and then forgot about it.
The first ones are from Will's championship football game.  They won 1st place!  This was a big deal for him/us and I can't believe I forgot to post about it.
Anyway, read about it  here

The other pictures that have been lingering are from one of our favorite local Summer/Fall spots:  LAGOON!
See them  here

Millie's Spring piano recital was in March.  She played two of my favorite songs yet:  "The Phantom of the Opera" and "He's a Pirate" from Pirates of the Caribbean.  She's getting really good!  We were way impressed that she memorized these songs and she gave us a great performance!
