Snowbird round 2

A few weeks later we were back at Snowbird.  Ahh, it was so great to be back!
More swimming, more hot tubbing, more relaxing, more napping, more eating, more playing.

Hot Tub on our deck

It also happened to be the finish line for the Tour of Utah bike race!  This place was happening!
We took some time to cheer on the winners and watch the finishers.  We have missed cheering for BS at his bike races and this brought back fun memories :)

The top 2 finishers of this stage, the one in 2nd went on to win.

True story:
Will lost a molar at Snowbird. For some reason he put it in a glass with some ice and water (which nobody knew at the time). A bit later, BS asked Quin to fix him a drink. She saw a glass of ice water sitting on the counter and gave it to BS.  BS chugged it down.  Later Will went to get his tooth out of the glass to place under his pillow and discovered that the glass was empty.
Yep, BS had gulped down his molar!
Will did not think this was funny because he gets very excited to get money from the tooth fairy!
Here is the note I found that night under his pillow:

Snowbird round 1

We love this place and look forward to staying here every summer. It is far but close and provides the relaxing get-a-way that we always need come summer.  This year we split our week - going Mon-Fri in July, and Fri-Mon in August. Splitting it up allowed us to spend more time up there because we could break up our work and commitments at home. We were lucky to have several friends and families come stay and play with us!  I wasn't good at taking pictures of everyone but did manage to capture some of the things we did in July.

The Bird

Somewhere between our trip to Island Park and several baseball tournaments, we managed to spend a week up at Snowbird.  Our family has a timeshare at The Cliff lodge where we get to spend a week each summer.  It seems that no matter how early we schedule this or how hard we try to work it around our summer activities, there is always something going on during that same week.
But that's the point.  It doesn't matter if there is some place someone needs to be or how much BS has to work because Snowbird is so close.  It's like a vacation that is far but near.  We love it.
We also love sharing the condo with family and friends.  This year it was mostly with Mom's family because the cousins were in town from Minnesota.  Our friends the Sepulveda's were there in their condo as well.
With the record moisture we received in May, the ski resort was still open!  It was really cool to be swimming  and laying out in the warm sun while watching people ski by 20 yards away.
We did the usual swimming, more swimming, playing in the arcade, playing in the elevator (which is a no-no but the girls met some boys in the process), playing in the park, and spending a day doing all of the resort activities.  We did as much and as little as we felt like.  The weather was perfect.

Snowbird 09/10

We spent the last week at beautiful Snowbird. Each summer we are lucky to stay there for a whole week in our condo/unit. It's perfect because it's close and BS can go back and forth for work.
I did a lot of driving to and fro because of the kids' sports and dance practice but we managed to spend quite a bit of time up there.

We spent lots of time swimming, hot-tubbing, alpine sliding, mechanical bulling, bungee tramp jumping, playground playing, hiking, moose and chipmunk watching, rock climbing, munching, game playing, arcade gaming, pillow fighting.

We enjoyed the company of family and friends who came to play and relax with us.

I was a slacker and only took a few pictures of the whole week with my little pocket camera. I can't find it. I'm sure it's buried in the pile of laundry in my room, or buried in one of the 3 bags that I haven't unpacked yet, or buried in one of the cars. That's what happens when you are in one place at one moment and then another place the next. That's how our life has been the past few weeks!

So, this gives me a great opportunity to post pictures from Snowbird 2009. I looked back and realized that I never did post about that retreat. So many cute pics, it's hard to pick.
