We arrived at 9:30 pm in the dark where we were immediately greeted by a young gentleman driving a Ranger with a trailer. He loaded our stuff, followed us to the parking lot to park our car, gave us a ride to the front door of the houseboat, then unloaded our stuff. The whole process took 20 minutes. Wow! That was the easiest loading of the houseboat. Ever. And the beginning of a trip that was about as perfect as it gets - the people, the beach, the activities, the food, the weather, the fireworks!
There were four families - 8 adults and 14 kids. The kids matched up great and everybody had an awesome time. My friend Rachelle had never been there so it was really fun to see her amazement and excitement of the whole Lake Powell experience.
Some firsts for our family was surfing and paddle boarding, both super fun and addicting!
Among many highlights, one of my favorites was the incredible fireworks shows that the guys did. Somebody on the boat had a connection that involved getting very huge, awesome fireworks. And to watch them on the top of the houseboat near the canyon walls is indescribable. We used to do that when I was growing up so it brought back good memories.
We did all of the usual activities, with a lot more time spent on the beach and in the sand because it was so nice. We spent hours on the Sea-Doos and Ski boats surfing, wake boarding, double tubing, skiing, knee boarding, air-chairing, and even BS doing the human bubble. We all had cameras and took literally hundreds of pictures, making it hard to narrow them down. I left out stuff but here is a glimpse of our vacation:
