Ski Bus

In our cute little town we have awesome moms that coordinate a ski bus for the kids. It picks them up every Saturday at 7:45, takes them to a ski resort {this year it was Park City}, then brings them home at 5:00. It is fabulous!  Millie and Sambo LOVED skiing with their friends every week and I'm sure they thought being on their own was pretty cool. Despite my begging them to take pictures, they only took a couple. Oh well, I'm just glad they are loving to ski!  Sambo even chose not to play basketball this year so he could go skiing. He couldn't do both because the games are on Saturdays.

Ski Alta

We enjoyed sking at Alta a few times this season. While Millie and Sam were on the ski bus, we took Will and Quincy {and usually one of Will's buddies}. This year Will was big and good enough to go off his own with his friends, while BS and I got Quin all to ourselves. Quincy is such a great little skiier!  I wasn't sure she would remember but she was cruising down the mountain!

Basketball Champs!

Coach Travis, Ace, Mason, Will, Michael, Maddux, Everett, Matt, Isaac, Trey

Will had an awesome basketball season!  Not only did his team win the championship, but the entire team was full of his best buddies!  These games were so fun to watch!  Will turned a corner this year and figured out how to be aggressive.  He scored at least one basket every game, but his strength is definitely getting rebounds!  Towards the end of the season he was getting lots of fouls after his Dad would remind him that he could get 5 before he had to sit out.  He fouled out at one game. He came a long way since at the beginning of the season he would barely touch a player from the other team and you would hear him say, "oh, sorry."

Jake and Ashlee brought their kids to watch his last game in Springville, we love to see cousins and appreciate them coming to cheer him on!

And we couldn't resist a visit to Aunt Jenny's on the way home to snuggle with Nixon!
Jenny just had surgery to have her appendix removed.

Sambo's Skiing & Superbowl Birthday!

My firstborn son is 12. Twelve!
I can't stand it, and yet I am so excited for him.  12 is a big year...going to YM and becoming a Deacon, going in to Junior High, puberty, becoming aware of girls...

He really, really wanted a cell phone for his birthday. So much that he decided not to have a friend birthday party so money could be spent on a phone. I couldn't stand no doing anything on his birthday, so I let him choose somewhere we could go as a family to celebrate.  He wanted to go skiing, so we went to Sundance for night skiing and dinner.  His buddy Seth came too.

We love Sundance. Everything about it. But especially eating in this cozy lodge by the fire. Yum!

The next day was Superbowl Sunday.  Broncos vs Patriots. We had the family over for dinner and a party!  Most of us were cheering for the Broncos.

The Patriots won. It was probably one of the worst games we've ever watched, but we still had fun!
Sambo got what he wanted...a cell phone! He was so, so happy!

For another gift, he also got to be able to go back to Ridgeline!  BS and I decided that he had earned it and we could tell he was missing his friends too much.  Here he is on his first day back before school:

I just love this boy so much!

Nitro Circus

For Christmas Uncle Shad gave the guys in our family tickets to NITRO CIRCUS!
I sure wish I could have gone, I was totally jealous!
The boys said it was amazing and "so freaking awesome!"

Thanks Shad!
