Champions {Again}!

Sambo's team did it again!  Utah County Football Conference 5th Grade Champions!
In 3 seasons of football, his team has been the Champs twice. {And made it to the championship game but lost in the other}.  Quite the group of tough, cute boys.  In 3 months Sambo only missed 1 practice, which is saying a lot given that they practiced 4 days/week.  He loves being with his buddies and he runs/works hard for his team.  It's been fun to watch him learn, grow, and play.  He isn't the biggest or most aggressive guy out there, but he gets the job done when given the chance.

Here we are at the Championship game at Lehi High School.  It was a perfect day for football.  Perfect.

Meanwhile, BS was coaching Will's semi-final playoff game in the next town at the same time.  They went into it undefeated and very confident.  We thought for sure they would make it to the championship the next weekend.   But it was not to be.  Turns out they didn't win and actually had quite a miserable game day.  A couple of the key players were sick and the other team came to win.  BS coached his heart out, but in the end they lost.  Will was bummed, this was his first loss ever in his 2 seasons of football {champs last year}!
I'm proud of BS for staying positive with the little guys and being a good example of a good sport.  He faked like it was ok :)  He and Will were able to make it to the tail end of Sambo's game.

Grandpa Jim made it too!

Way to go Knights!

Grandma's and Crazy Hair

A few weeks ago it was Grandparent's Day at school.  The kids were very lucky to have BOTH Grandmas come and visit them at school!
They are the best Grandma's in the World!

They both stuck around and visited me at the house while we waited for Kindergarten to get out.
I took them to a fun little place for a yummy lunch.  It was great being with the two women that I look up to the most and love so much!

The next week, it was Red Ribbon Week at school, a program to teach the kids about Drugs.  Each day there is a theme and the kids really get into this.  Here are a few pictures:

Goooo Cougars!

Earlier this year BS signed-up the kids for Cosmo's Kids Club.  This means we got lots of tickets to BYU football and basketball games!  We made it to 3 games and had fantastic time!  Each time we were able to take extra friends and each kid took turns bringing friends.  We didn't take pics of Millie and her friends at the first game but here we are at the second:

New footballs for the boys!
As of now BYU's record is 6 and 5 with one game left.  No matter what our kids are hugs fans!
We look forward to some Cougar basketball this winter!

Fall Break

We were planning to go to St. George for Fall Break, which is what we frequently do, but the weather was bad news down South.  Very rainy and colder than it was supposed to be up here.  Also there were so many fun things going on locally so we decided to stick around and have a Staycation!

It went like this:
Wednesday: After school we went with our friends the Griffiths to see "Hotel Transylvania" and eat at Costa Vida.
Thursday: The boys got invited to go to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point with their friends Breckon and Bryton.  Here are some pics that their Mom took {thanks Instagram!}:

-While the boys played, the girls and I enjoyed a lunch date at Chik-Fil-A and then some shopping to get all of the stuff we needed for Halloween costumes and crafts.  I love having girl time with Millie and Quincy!

Thursday afternoon we picked up Will's friend Isaac and drove up to the Grandma and Grandpa's for some fun at the cabin!  BS had to stay back for work :(
We spent that night and most of the next day up there.  As always we had a blast playing outdoors and relaxing inside their cozy home.  Somehow it hadn't rained on us yet.

Friday night:  We went to Frightmares at Lagoon!  BS left work early and picked up some of Sam's friends and met us there!  By then it was raining but it didn't stop us, we threw on some garbage bags and stayed until it closed!  See the next post for pics.

Saturday:  BYU football game!  This game was "Black Out" day so everyone including the players wore black.  The uniforms looked great!

Somebody got sleepy and took a little nap in the bleachers.  She was pooped from our 3 day marathon!
But not for long...she feels so rejuvenated now!

Lagoon Part 2: Frightmares

One of our FAVORITE things to do in the Fall: Frightmares!
The kids were brave this year and went through 3 of the Haunted Houses!  Spooooky!
So much fun with lots of friends and cousins!

Over Fall break we went two nights in a row.  Friday night was rainy but not crowded at all so we stayed until close - just threw some garbage bags on the kids :)

The next Friday, Millie's friend Morann invited A TON of friends {girls and boys} to go to Frightmares.  They all rode together in this "Beat Bus" that her parents rented for the evening!  They had a total blast!  While the 7th graders played, Quincy and I had a date night at Lagoon.  I had her all to myself and loved every minute of it.  The boys were up in the mountains for the deer hunt.

Ready to go through the maze
