10 year old Giants

Will has found his love of baseball. If you ask him, he is going to play in the "MLB."
He is, afer all, named Will Clark - just like a baseball legend, #22 who played for the real Giants.
He is definitely on the right track. When he gets on a streak he can really "smack it out there!" as his Grandma Cindy says when she is cheering the boys on.  He also started as a pitcher and did a great job! It was really fun to watch him. Not only is he an awesome baseball player, he has an awesome coach! Once again Coach Sam stepped in and taught these boys some baseball. In the end they made it to the semi-finals and the season ended with a bummer last game, losing to an undefeated team.

School Happenings

May always promises a busy month full of events, recitals, and happenings.
Here are a few from school:

The Renaissance Fair:
An annual tradition for 6th graders. Such a pain in the behind...but such a fun day for the kids. It involves an extensive amount of time and energy - for both the students and the parents. Sam's group made a booth called "The Swaggin' Dragon" and sold stuff like Flaming Cheetos (Dragon's tongue), Dragon Balls (Atomic Fire balls), Smokies (Dragon's toenails), and Dragon eyeballs (meatballs). This was a whole different experience from when Millie was in 6th grade. Girls are WAY more into this kind of thing and have more fun with it. But these boys did a pretty great job on their own.
And most importantly, they had fun at the festival sold all of their loot.
Seth, Ethan, Tristan, Jacob, Sam, Cade, Breckon

The Ridgeline Run
This year it was called "Run the Ridge" and the kids got to ran around the neighborhood instead of just behind the school. BS and I had fun volunteering at the stations and cheering on the kids. Sambo finished in the top 5 of the whole school. Way to go!
Here he is running with Addison. She might be his girlfriend ;)

Will and his buddies Kalob, Issac, Matthew after the run.

And Quin just ran her little guts out and did it with a smile. She is not the quickest but she didn't give up and kept going until the bell rang. Good job Q!

Dads and Donuts:
BS couldn't make it this time so I was the substitute Dad. But Will didn't seem to mind.  I know I didn't! It was fun to see what it was all about.

The Dance Festival:
Such a fun yearly tradition. BS and I went early to save good seats and always have fun sitting by friends watching our kids out there dancing.

.4th grade went first and danced to "I get a good feeling"
This is a costume gone bad. The tinfoil is supposed to be covering his hat like a gangster or something. I guess I should have helped him with that.
But look how cute he is anyway! And he danced so well!

6th grade did a medley of popular songs in neon shirts. He's got good rhythm and looked good. I love that even the 6th graders aren't too cool to dance.

2nd Grade did a fun four-square number. She was absolutely darling and of course didn't miss a step!

6th Grade Celebration:
After the Dance Festival, it was time to party! At least for Sambo and the rest of 6th grade. We as parents helped put on a fun graduation party since this is their last year of elementary school. My job was to make cotton candy, grill hot dogs, and take some snapshots. Of course I volunteered BS to help me since he is the one with cotton candy making skills.  And my friend Kari too. She's always so nice to help me.

Timberline Dance Recital:
For Millie's "Dance 2" class, they performed a couple of dances at the recital.
Of course she danced awesome and looked great.

Will's Wheels

The boys (including BS) were very anxious to get back out and go dirt biking, especially since Will got a new motorcycle - so they went South to Cherry Creek at Jericho.
They invited Uncle Shad & Nate, and Trevin to come and they had a great time!
They came home so giddy and excited for the next ride.

Super League baseball: Monday Night Lights

The boys are back for another baseball season!
I have mentioned this before but I love watching them play baseball more than all of the other sports. Each Spring I am always so happy when they decide they want to play because I love going to their games and chatting with my friends in the {mostly} warm weather. This year they both wanted to do the super league again. They have games every Monday night in Orem. Sambo played for the Diamondbacks and Wilbur played for the Generals. This league is very competitive so their teams have many learning and growth opportunities. Sam's team won more games this year, while Will's team didn't win any - mostly because it was a new team. But they both improved and had a good time playing the sport they love with their buddies.  Good job guys!

Houseboat maintenance and Goblin Valley

Every March a crew from the "Getaway" houseboat timeshare head to Lake Powell to do maintenance on the houseboat. BS and the boys spent the weekend working with Grandmpa Jim.
But all work didn't mean no play...

They spent the next day in Goblin Valley hiking and exploring around.  They loved it!

One year older and wiser too!

We just love this guy so much. 10 years ago a brilliant little man was born.
He has always been an old soul in a little boy's body.
Grandma Judy likes to call him Benjamin Button, and it seems that "Wilbur" fits him too :)
What ten year old boy is more interested in getting a credit card than having a birthday party or getting presents?  Who else notices and wants a green suit jacket than an old man is wearing at church? A jacket that looks like the ones from the Masters golf tournament. Who else clips coupons and saves his money to buy a king mattress for himself?  And who else saves a root beer glass bottle so he can refill it with other various drinks using a funnel just so he can drink out of a glass bottle over and over?
Nobody but our cute little Will, that's who!

We love his inquiring mind, his quirky ways, his adorable smile, his good manners, and his kind heart.
Happy birthday baby boy!

He requested a Reece's Peanut Butter Cup cake:

Tearing into his present...

And he scores! A tablet and a $100 Visa card!

And just for fun we threw in the "Frozen" movie. We love that show!

That night Sambo posted this on his Instagram. It made my heart so happy.
