Easter!

On Easter Sunday in their Easter outfits
We spent Easter weekend at the cabin for a fabulous lunch and Easter Egg hunt!

All ready to go hunt for eggs

Each kid had their own color to find - that way everyone scores big with plenty of eggs!

Coloring eggs:

Sunday morning Easter baskets!  The Easter bunny did not disappoint.  They even got giant chocolate truffle eggs with their names on them. Yum :)

Easter

Easter Sunday before church

It's been nearly a month since Easter, but better late than never right?
It's been so cold and wet the last few weeks that it's hard to remember that it was warm and sunny on Easter Sunday.  It was a beautiful day for a beautiful holiday.
For the first time ever, we almost didn't color Easter eggs. I admit that I just forgot about it until 10:00 the night before.  Apparently it slipped BS and the kids' minds too.  But this tradition is a must, so I whipped up some homemade egg dye with vinegar and food coloring.  Luckily I had lots of eggs :)

The next morning, we woke up to sunshine and hidden eggs through the house.  The silly Easter Bunny also hid the kid's baskets under Quinny's castle bed so it took a little while to find them.
The baskets were filled with goodies including Girl Scout cookies (like every year), a movie (Wreck it Ralph), jump ropes, Skylanders figures, smelly lotions, bath bombs, and much more.  Most importantly gobs and gobs of Easter candy!

And traditionally, new swimsuits from Mom and Dad

After the morning fun, we went to church which conveniently starts at 11:00.  We put on our Easter clothes and the kids looked darling!
After church we went to the cabin to celebrate with the Guffey's.  The following week was Spring break which will be the next post.

A couple weeks earlier, we celebrated Easter at Grandpa Judy's house with the Clarks.  We had an Easter Egg hunt and had so much fun discovering what was inside eggs, especially the "Golden eggs."

Grandma never disappoints with her goodies and surprises.  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!
We also celebrated the March birthdays -Will and Grandpa Judy :)

EASTER 2012

Easter was fantastic!  I've been busy getting ready for our trip to Hawaii (among a bagillion other things) so I took the easy way out and posted pictures on a Smilebox.  We spent the weekend at the cabin and the weather was gorgeous.  The previous weekend was General Conference so we spent Saturday night at Grandpa Judy's and celebrated Easter on Sunday with all of the Clarks.  Saturday night the guys went to Priesthood session at the Marriott Center while the women and children went to Chuck E Cheese, one of Grandma's traditions with the grandkids.
On Sunday Grandpa Judy held a fabulous Easter egg hunt with tons of eggs and luckily the weather cooperated enough that we could have it outside.  It was April Fool's day and she played a little trick on the kids by putting the little poo things from grass aeration in some of the eggs.  Of course Wilbur was the one to find the most of those!  That kids always seems to have unfortunate things happen to him :)  I really wish I had my camera at Grandpa Judy's but I for got it.  I took some with her camera that I  need to get.
Anyway, here are pictures from Easter at the cabin:

Easter!

I finally finished California so now I can catch up on everything else that has been going on.  I'll start with Easter.  This year was pretty low-key.  It seems like we are usually somewhere for spring break or with the cousins but Easter was late in April and didn't coincide with our school break.  And the cousins stayed in Minnesota this year because they only had one day out of school for Easter weekend.  But it was still a blast!

Saturday we went to the cabin to work on building and cleaning G-pa and G-ma's new place.  It is getting close to being finished!  The kids were great helpers at sweeping, wiping saw dust off of the new cabinets, and vacuuming.

Then we ate dinner and colored eggs at the cabin.  Always a favorite activity!

Sunday morning, the kids woke up and the Easter Egg hunt began!  The weather was really rainy and windy so we stayed inside.  They found most of their eggs in the basement.

Then they went on a search to find Easter baskets.  The Easter Bunny did a good job at hiding them because it took them awhile.  Finally they found them under Quincy's castle bed :)

They each got a "Pass of all Passes" to Seven Peaks, Trafalga, and local sports games.  Also a swimsuit with a rashguard/cover-up, some Girl Scout cookies, and all kinds of little toys and goodies.

We went to church then to Grandpa Judy's house for dinner.  Beside the unpleasant weather, it was a really nice day.  The kids seem to be grasping what Easter is really about.

The Easter Bunny brought Mom a really awesome Garmin watch that does everything :)  I love it.  It really came in handy the following week.

The day before we left for California, we got pictures taken with real bunnies and chicks!  I will post them soon!  I am in love with will these Easter/Spring photos and will cherish them forever!
