Deer Hunt {easy style}

Another deer hunt success!  This year was extra good because the boys had their motorcycles to ride up and down the trail.  Well, not quite the whole way.  At one point the trail gets too rigid and rocky for dirt bikes.  But it cut the hiking time by more than half . They needed an easier route because
once again the boy's football play-off games were the same weekend.  BS took Sambo and Will up Friday morning, came down for the games Saturday, then back up to the campsite, then back down Sunday afternoon.  The boys were grinning from ear to ear!  Football mixed with motorcycling mixed with guys only camping mixed with hunting and shooting?  Priceless!!

Will was obsessed with getting some flint and stone!
And he successfully started a fire with it {after 20 min}

No buck this year.  Darn {yeah right}.  The deer hunt has turned into more of a mancation than an actual hunt.  If a HUGE buck happens to walk into camp then someone might claim it.  But they do a lot of target shooting and the boys are hoping and asking for a 22 rifle of their own.
I love that I don't have to worry for a second about my little guys.  I have complete trust in BS that he will keep them safe and taken good care of.
I'm so glad that these 3 have each other:

The Clark girls kept the tradition of driving up to the trailhead to greet our boys back on Sunday after church. We are always so happy to see them, but mostly do it so the kids can ride the horses.
I LOVE these pictures.  Quincy is in absolute HEAVEN!

Tifie Scout Camp

The Boy Scouts in our ward invited the 11 year old Scouts to join them for a couple of days, so Sambo and BS went up and for some camping fun.  Camp Tifie is a posh camp and they had a blast!

Bought a new pocket knife at the Trading Post
This is how 11 year olds pack the car

Girl's Camp!

Summer started out with a bang - school let out on Friday and we were heading off to Girl's camp on Monday!  We were sooooooo lucky to go to Heber Valley Camp!  Designed and built specifically for the Young Women, it really is the nicest campground ever!
We stayed at Camp Esther in 3 yurts - divided between Beehives, Miamaids, and Laurels.  There was about 40 of us which seemed to be just right.  Our theme was "Stand in Holy Places" which goes along with the 2013 YW theme.  Our camp director {who is AMAZING} centered it around an international theme, focusing on different countries each day, implying that it doesn't matter where you are standing...you can make it a holy place by our choices and actions.  We decorated our own sneakers ("stand") which the girls really loved.  Our food and activities revolved around the country of the day.  Monday was Israel, Tuesday was Mexico, Wednesday was Italy, and Thursday was USA. The food was absolutely INCREDIBLE! I'm sure we ate better than we have our entire lives!
The nice thing about Heber Valley Camp is that the main activities are already planned and provided.  Our favorites were the ropes challenge course {including a Zip Line!} and going to the lake.
In our free time we made crafts, wrote notes, played games, and hung out in the yurts.

My most very favorite thing about camp was being with Millie.
I love that I get to be her leader!  We had an absolute blast!

I could go on and on about camp.  What a spiritual and fun experience!

For Dad

For Father's Day the kids and I gave BS this nifty tent.  It's big and tall.  The kid's slept in it for days until we took it down to go camping for real.  Love it!  An awesome tent for an awesome Dad.
